CD CARTONDRUCK AG IN OBERSULM IS GERMANYS ” PACKAGING PRINTER OF THE YEAR”

Innovative, aesthetic and of premium quality. These are the attributes of the package that CD CARTONDRUCK AG created for the cosmetic manufacturer Dr. Babor. On October, 28, 2010 at the Druck & Medien-Gala 2010 in Berlin, the Obersulm company was presented with the Kodak”Packaging Printer of the Year” Award for this product. In so doing, it relegated competitors from an array of over 250 participants to second place and beyond.
Druck & Medien have now presented German companies with awards for particular achievements for the sixth time. The Awards have now become firmly established in the market and are considered to be one of the most renowned accolades in the branch. This year CARTONDRUCK convinced by means of the innovative package which was part of a promotional series for the cosmetic manufacturer Dr. Babor.
In the course of this development, the benchmarks concerning perceptive value and the functionality of the package were very high. The presentation of the finished product mirrored these demands. Thus, seven ampoules were placed on a small platform in front of two high-gloss, triangular pillars in such a way that they were reflected therein. For the same series, the Obersulm company also created an equally transparent box for cosmetic jars. The construction, which is open on several sides, allows for almost complete product visibility and creates the impression of a floating sphere.
Leaving the competition behind
CARTONDRUCK was chosen as the “Packaging Printer of the Year” out of an overall field of over 250 participants. As the explanatory statement of the jury puts is: “CARTONDRUCK has created the most beautiful package of the year and, as such, has made a shining appearance in the truest sense of the word.”
Marc Schnizer, Member of the Board for Technology and Finance at CARTONDRUCK, is particularly pleased about this award in view of the corporate culture guidelines. “Our philosophy is to combine innovation with the highest quality and sustainability”, he explains. “With the Packaging Printer of the Year Award this has once again been honoured externally. This therefore reinforces our credo that integrity and acting responsibly can go hand in hand with success.”
Awards attest creativity and the spirit of innovation
On the whole Steffen Schnizer, who received the distinction personally in Berlin, also sees this similarly. “This award is the recognition of the achievement of our whole team, stated the CARTONDRUCK Member of the Board for Sales and Marketing. “It furthermore substantiates the wonderful, constructive, service-oriented collaboration with our long standing customer, Dr. Babor.”
This most recent success joins the queue in an impressive list of awards which attest CARTONDRUCK competence and their spirit of innovation. In 2010 alone, this is already the second big award for the Obersulm company, which just recently was distinguished as overall pan-European winner of the renowned ECMA Award for its packaging finish of the Tommy Hilfigers Summer Fragrance Tommy and Tommy Girl (Estée Lauder Companies). In 2009 CARTONDRUCK was also presented with the German Institute of Packagings, “German Packaging Award” for outstanding creative achievement with the folding carton Expert Lift, Nivea Visage, Beiersdorf.
