DST Output and Zumbox Announce Agreement to Offer Digital Postal Mail to Millions of U.S. Consumer Households
Wednesday 04. August 2010 - Output solutions leader is first to offer a secure digital postal mail channel to its client base representing some of the nation's largest transactional mailers
DST Output, a leading provider of print and electronic output solutions, and Zumbox, the leader in digital postal mail services, have entered into an agreement to provide digital postal mail capabilities for DST Output clients, which includes some of the country’s largest transactional mailers. DST Output produces and delivers nearly 3 billion electronic and print mail pieces to more than 120 million street addresses on behalf of its clients every year.
Digital postal mail is generated as an exact digital facsimile of – and alternative to – paper mail. The DST Output-Zumbox agreement will enable DST Output to offer its clients the ability to deliver digital postal mail directly to a consumer’s Zumbox. In turn, consumers will have the opportunity to view, manage and store their transactional and financial mail and other documents within a secure and verified online mailbox – their Zumbox – via the Internet.
“This agreement with Zumbox will result in another important electronic delivery channel for our clients and can provide significant cost savings, especially with the anticipated postage rate increase in 2011,” said DST Output’s Executive Vice President of Technology and CTO Frank Delfer. “Most importantly for consumers is having a single logon to view documents that have been processed by DST Output, click through to billing Web sites where they can make payments, and archive their bills, statements and other documents securely.”
Zumbox connects large transactional, financial and government mailers to consumer households for the delivery and storage of digital postal mail online. The service is available at no cost for consumers, and a Zumbox account has been created for every household residence in the United States. Users open and verify their Zumbox account by signing up and entering their residence address at www.zumbox.com which generates a verification code that is delivered to their residence via the U.S. Postal Service. Zumbox provides consumers with a simple, time-saving and environmentally responsible solution for digital postal mail with online recordkeeping of documents forever, for free.
“The tight integration between sophisticated data management systems at DST Output and the Zumbox paperless postal system will deliver a great experience for mail recipients in consumer households,” said John Payne, CEO of Zumbox. “The simple convenience of digital postal mail will save those consumers time and eliminate the need for bankers boxes full of paper files.”
“Our clients will enjoy several benefits from this new offering, including an additional electronic presentment channel, postage cost savings, more green practices, and efficiency in the delivery of their customer communications,” Delfer concluded.
