The troubled environment is capturing the attention of the world. Bottle Box(TM) food grade containers are the first of its kind. Bottle Box(TM) is igniting a fundamental step change and creating a new category of recycling that makes total environmental sense. The Bottle Box(TM) fills a niche and demand in the market by introducing a 100% green alternative to food packages. A product where the end user had a direct impact in creating by recycling their used bottles daily.
Direct Pack, Inc., a subsidiary of PMC Global Inc. and leader in the food packaging industry, was founded in 2006. DPI is an integrated manufacturer of thermoformed products made from post consumer goods including re-grinded PCR-PET, PET, polypropylene, PLA and Bagasse. DPI provides quality custom packaging for the foodservice, food processing, supermarket/retailers and agricultural growers market segments.
Overseeing the launch for Bottle Box(TM) is DPI President Craig Snedden. Snedden brings years of experience along with his accomplished teams in design, manufacturing and packaging to the collaboration with Global PET. A key member of the executive team is Laura Murphy, Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Murphy has worked along the same avenues with Snedden for nearly two decades and has developed a level of trust and integrity with their respective consumers.
“With Bottle Box(TM) we have embarked on a major environmental movement within the food packaging industry and we have introduced the very first of its kind product. A first class no compromise team of individuals is essential to ensure our success with Bottle Box(TM), ” explained Craig Snedden, President of Direct Pack, Inc. “We want and need established individuals as part of our team to lead the future in delivering this unique, artistic and innovative green product in Bottle Box(TM).”
Co-collaborator Global PET was founded in 1997 by Nadim Bahou with a focus to ground post-industrial scrap bottles into flake to sell to sheet extruders. Bahou gained momentum and was first in line to introduce new recycling technology at his new from the ground up facility in Perris, CA. Global PET provides its best in class skill set in the recycling process (granulating, washing, extrusion and thermoforming). Bahou also brings his most recent awarded grant from the State of California for nearly $7million. Continued support has afforded Bahou to add thermoform lines. The entire process, which transforms the 100% post consumer PET rolls into the innovative and artistic Bottle Boxes, is available under one roof. Bahou will oversee production for Bottle Box(TM).
The Bottle Boxes are great for take out, salad, snacks, deli items and entrees (not to exceed 165 degrees). Global PET was granted a Letter of Non-Object in 2009, which allows Bottle Box(TM) to deliver approved food grade level packaging – another industry first. Global PET also secured the source of 100% recycled PET bottles through Plastic Recycling Corporation of California (PRCC). Bahou’s long standing and reputable history allowed him to establish a 10-year agreement to secure 60 million pounds of 100% recycled PET bottles per year, an absolute key component to the success of Bottle Box(TM).
“We are so pleased to have worked so hard on attaining this vital long-term agreement with the PRCC. It gives us a clear advantage to do what we do best,” expressed Nadim Bahou, President Global PET. “This secured supply source coupled with the grant from the State of California will help us to ignite a step change in the food packaging business with Bottle Box(TM) and will help to protect the environmental future of our planet.”
In addition to being green and decreasing their carbon footprint, Bottle Box(TM) packages are ECO-CHIC. With freedom to produce the perfect form, Director of Design and Engineering Ghandi Sifuentes, effortlessly combines his talents to create a line of environmentally conscious and unique Bottle Boxes. Sifuentes also introduced a 21% reduction in material while preserving the integrity and quality in Bottle Box(TM). In addition, an airtight and stackable button locking system was a direct result of this distinctive design from Sifuentes. Customers can also personalize their Bottle Boxes with their company logo.
Defining the future of the retail network and customer base is a significant success factor in the overall launch and growth of Bottle Box(TM). A network of sales teams is already in place in the Western US. Laura Murphy will assure customers that they will receive first class service and a product that will make a difference to them and the environment.
“Our vision and focus is to initially market the Bottle Box(TM) in the Western US,” explains Laura Murphy, Vice President Marketing and Sales. “We feel we can offer a great alternative to existing customers in the food service, food processing, supermarket, agricultural segments as well as the take away experience. Bottle Boxes can further assist our customers to attain their own sustainability goals by using this 100% recycled PET without sacrificing performance or aesthetics in their packaging.”
