KEE Consultants deliver first Process Standard Offset (PSO) and ISO 12647 training in the United States

Thursday 15. October 2009 - KEE Consultants, the graphic industry standardization experts’ network, has launched the first PSO/ISO 12647 training in the United States.

The sessions are dedicated to helping consultants and experts improve industry standards, and were attended by a number of the US’ renowned industry figures, including Joe Fazzi, Vice-President of Print and Media IDEAlliance; Ron Ellis, Gerry Gerlach, Bruce Bayne, Matt Fehn and Fred Hsu from the Rochester Institute of Technology Research Laboratory, plus many more.

The initiative was supported by Bundesverband Druck & Medien (the German Printing and Media Industries Federation), which initiated the PSO methodology, and was sponsored by Alwan Color Expertise. Presentations were given by Elie Khoury, founder and CEO of Alwan Color Expertise, and Supree Thongpetch, founder and CEO of Colour Doctor. Elie and Supree are both members of KEE Consultants network, with many PSO-certified printing houses in Europe and Asia.

Dave Hunter, a leading G7 expert with an impressive record of more than 107 installations, says: “Elie and Supree have a wealth of experience and expertise in this field and are the ideal candidates to deliver this comprehensive training and highlight the benefits of PSO/ISO.

“PSO adoption and compliancy is fast becoming a major differentiator. PSO methodology significantly improves practices and production processes, which boosts profitability and helps ensure sustainability. The training sessions also showed the critical role Alwan products can play in a PSO production process, and how they help printers achieve best practice and deliver compliant products.”

Elie Khoury comments on the training sessions: “While many US print houses recognize the merits of G7, there’s an increasing awareness that PSO provides a comprehensive methodology. It defines and optimizes all aspects of a printer’s workflow, ensuring best practice and optimal results.
“By promoting PSO methodology in the US, we hope that the industry will take a step closer towards common standards and practices on both sides of the Atlantic.”
