ROVEMA GLOBAL PACKAGING GROUP (RGPG), LLC COMPLETE ACQUISITION OF BOSSAR S.L.

Wednesday 19. August 2009 - ROVEMA Global Packaging Group, LLC, a global leader in supplying state-of-the-art packaging machines and lines announces today the completion of the acquisition of BOSSAR S.L., a world leader in the design, development and manufacturing of horizontal form fill and seal pouch machinery (HFFS), with patented, innovative technology. Effective August 1st 2009, the transaction was led by ROVEMA’s Spanish subsidiary, its manufacturing site for entry-level intermittent vertical form fill and seal machines (VFFS).

The acquisition includes the purchase of all BOSSAR assets and subsidiaries, its full line of proprietary packaging technology and its manufacturing site in Barcelona, Spain. Said Klaus Kraemer the Group’s chief executive officer: “This acquisition is another important milestone to strengthen ROVEMA’s market position and expand horizontally our application varieties in the flexible packaging industry “.

This new endeavor is part of ROVEMA’s strategy as a truly global packaging group and its commitment to innovation and delivering best-in-class products and services. BOSSAR’s wide HFFS machine range and proprietary technology perfectly complements ROVEMA’s portfolio. Beyond its strong brand name BOSSAR reinforces ROVEMA’s strong focus on continuous product development as a technological leader in the packaging industry.

ROVEMA will merge BOSSAR and its key personnel into the ROVEMA Ibérica operations to ensure continuation of BOSSAR’s packaging technology and its outstanding customer service. Furthermore, significant synergy effects are achieved by combining supply chain, manufacturing facilities, machine program and sales channels of both organizations. The newly created organization, based in Barcelona (Spain), will become ROVEMA’s HFFS Pouch Machine Competence Center.

With more than 1500 installed machines BOSSAR, now in conjunction with ROVEMA, will continue to provide world-class After Sales Service Support, through the global sales and service network built over the 17 years of history. Moreover ROVEMA’s worldwide subsidiaries will bring this service even closer to the customer. Additional synergy effects are expected from leveraging technologies across the group.

Thanks to this important acquisition, ROVEMA strengthens its world leadership as key partner in supplying value added packaging solution to the food, pharmaceutical and chemical industry.
