Pakready appoints experienced campaigner to drive business forward
Friday 07. August 2009 - Pakready, a leading developer of prototyping systems for packaging, has appointed Derek Sizer as its new Managing Director. The move reflects the company's intent to expand current operations by increasing market penetration in Europe and the rest of the world.
With almost 20 years in the printing and packaging industry, most recently as head of ECRM Imaging Systems’ dealer network in Europe and Asia, Derek has considerable experience in both product and channel marketing.
“Technology is important, but it tends to dominate the thinking of many suppliers,” says Derek. “It is more important to understand customers’ key objectives and build solutions considering local needs. We already have an excellent product but now we need to concentrate on building strong and long-term relationships with dealers and end users enabling them to add value to the production of packaged goods.”
Pakready is specialised in the development, supply and support of total solutions for the rapid prototyping of printed packaging and has many installations in blue-chip companies in the food and cosmetics sectors. Its solutions are capable of handling a range of substrates to produce 3-D packaging prototypes with simulated high quality print in position. Products from small pharmaceutical boxes to large POS and POP displays can be produced in as little as six minutes.
“Time-to-market is king in the packaging industry,” concludes Derek. “Pakready gives brand managers and packaging developers an accelerated route to market and a low-cost option to test market products with the design that gives them on-the-shelf’ attraction. This is a really exciting role – it is great to be at the helm of a company that can make such a big contribution to the value chain.”
