Informatica Chooses SDL XySoft for DITA Technical Documentation Needs
Friday 07. August 2009 - Component Content Management Software To Help Streamline Processes and Costs
SDL XySoft, the leading developer of Component Content Management (CCM) and Dynamic Publishing solutions, and part of SDL, leader in Global Information Management (GIM), today announced that Informatica Corporation has selected SDL XySoft CCM software to help manage the companys technical documentation, following the documentation teams move to a new structured authoring and publishing process using DITA, the XML standard for technical writing. Informatica has adopted DITA and SDL XySoft Component Content Management to streamline the process and costs associated with preparing technical documentation for Informaticas global customers.
Informatica is the leading independent provider of enterprise data integration software and services. More than 3,700 companies worldwide rely on Informatica to reduce the cost and expedite the time to address the data integration requirements of varying complexity and scale. Responding to a growing demand for the companys products in global markets, Informaticas technical documentation team made a decision to move from a traditional book-based publication methodology to a nimbler, more efficient process with DITA and Component Content Management.
“After looking at the available DITA Component Content Management systems on the market, our team selected the software of SDL XySoft,” said Robin Rielley, Director, Documentation, Informatica. “We were impressed with the products ability to support our business goals with out-of-the-box DITA capabilities and the willingness of the SDL XySoft team to support our learning curve.”
“We are pleased to support a company such as Informatica that is implementing a strategic approach to managing information,” said Howard Schwartz, VP Content Technologies of SDL XySoft. “Informatica understands the impact on profitability and customer satisfaction of adopting DITA and Component Content Management.”
Informatica will leverage the integration between the SDL XySoft products and SDLs Global Information Management (GIM) products, to achieve an efficient end-to-end global content lifecycle. Informatica had earlier adopted SDL WorldServer for translation management and will now leverage a tight integration of component content and translation management from the same company. The Informatica authoring team is also in the process of implementing content quality and terminology control with SDL Global Authoring Management System.
