R2integrated and The Daily Record Deploy New Social Media Tool to Present Sotomayor Confirmation
Thursday 06. August 2009 - R2integrated (R2i), a leading Internet marketing company, and Marylands Daily Record today announced a partnership to deploy R2is new social media tool, R2ISMASH, in order to showcase Judge Sonia Sotomayors confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court.
R2ISMASH is a social media vehicle that drives interactivity around specific events, campaigns, or initiatives by combining feeds from popular social networking sites into one unique presentation window. By using R2ISMASH, The Daily Record offers an engaging forum in which to watch Sotomayors confirmation unfold.
“Unlike most social media tools that push internal messages outward, R2ISMASH technology takes external messages and brings them in, creating a real-time gallery of information and commentary,” said Matt Goddard, CEO, R2i. “Together with The Daily Record, R2ISMASH is harnessing the collective consciousness about this historical event, packaging it all together, and making it available to the world.”
“We are excited to be partnering with R2i in utilizing this pioneering technology,” says Daily Record Publisher, Christopher Eddings. “Unlike social media solutions that require costly and time-consuming custom development, R2ISMASH can be deployed in a matter of minutes and can incorporate multiple social media feeds. By allowing our audience to share in pertinent, real-time events, R2ISMASH can be a powerful tool for organizations and/or media like The Daily Record.”
The Daily Record, which provides legal and business news and information, has utilized social media to its advantage for years, making it a natural fit for R2ISMASH deployment. While R2ISMASH is capable of harnessing virtually any social media site, The Daily Record R2ISMASH page will feature streams from social media heavyweights Flickr and Twitter.
R2ISMASH has been successfully deployed at several events including the Greater Baltimore Technology Councils TechNite and the Maryland Business Expo. Back in June, R2i launched a Michael Jackson Tribute R2ISMASH page in honor of the King of Pops passing. In less than a day, the site collected more than 250,000 text feeds and more than 2,500 photos.
