Thursday 30. July 2009 - The Los Angeles Times Media Group (LATMG) today announced that Bill Nagel has been named to the newly-created position of Executive Vice President, Business Services, effective immediately.
In this new role Bill will focus on growing alternative revenue streams through the marketing and sales of LATMGs print distribution system, call-center operations and production services to other media entities. Nagel also assumes leadership of the flagship Los Angeles Times circulation efforts.
“Bill Nagel is uniquely qualified to take on this new role,” said Times Publisher Eddy Hartenstein. “He brings a wealth of revenue-generating experience and forward thinking to The Times and will partner closely with our advertising, marketing and targeted media departments to identify emerging opportunities to deliver solutions for customers across Southern California.”

Prior to that, as Vice President, Circulation and Consumer Marketing, Nagel was instrumental in developing and executing the Union-Tribunes business strategy, including managing the launch of several new products.
Nagel began his career in 1988 at the Chicago Tribune where he spent more than 12 years in a variety of sales, circulation, and operations roles.
