Yamagata Beefs up Digital Printing to Serve Asias Surging Digital Printing & Photo Book Market
Thursday 30. July 2009 - In a move to meet growing digital printing and photo book market throughout Asia and the Pacific Rim, Yamagata has equipped its Japanese printing facility with a pair of HP Indigo 7000 digital presses.
The Yamagata facility uses the technology to produce a wide range of books, as well as marketing collateral and training materials. With full binding capabilities, including saddle stitching and spiral binding, Yamagata can now print, bind, package, kit and ship, full-color books and other materials throughout Asia and the Pacific Rim. The new presses will compliment its existing HP Indigo 3050 and 5000 presses already in place.
“Thanks to our expanded digital capabilities, we offer U.S. companies a one stop shop for digital, short-run printing,” said Shiro Fujimoto, president of Yamagata America. “By printing materials regionally, rather than shipping them across the ocean, our clients have a fast and cost-effective way to reach their audiences throughout Asia.”
Yamagatas distributed printing network spans the globe, saving companies on delivery time and a host of added expenses. Printing documents regionally lets companies avoid hefty international freight charges and steer clear of complicated rules, regulations and foreign customs checks. Instead, companies complete all of their pre-press checks in the United States. Then Yamagata sends the job electronically to an office near the final destination for fast, high-quality digital production.
