JDA Software Appoints New Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Tuesday 21. July 2009 - JDA Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS) today announced the appointment of Peter S. Hathaway to the position of executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective today, July 20. In this role, Hathaway will be responsible for JDA Softwares finance, accounting, investor relations and information technology groups.
Hathaway comes to JDA Software with more than 30 years of financial management experience. Most recently he served as the executive vice president and chief financial officer at Allied Waste Industries, Inc., the second-largest solid waste management company in the United States. Hathaway was part of the leadership team that helped Allied Waste grow revenue from a $100-million to a $6-billion company through the acquisition of more than 300 public and privately held businesses, including the 2008 merger of Allied Waste and Republic Services, Inc. and Allied Wastes acquisition of $4-billion Browning Ferris Industries, Inc. in 1999.
During his tenure at Allied Waste, Hathaway with the finance team led a multi-year restructuring of the balance sheet and a leverage-reduction program, which significantly cut the cost of debt and improved cash flow. He also introduced and integrated shareholder-value mapping into related metrics, dashboards, return-based measurement, capital allocation and a decision-support model, as well as established the companys tone for governance, compliance and reporting. Prior to joining Allied Waste, Hathaway held various financial management positions at Browning Ferris Industries, Inc. and Arthur Andersen LLP.
“We are pleased to welcome Pete Hathaway to JDA Softwares executive management team,” said Hamish Brewer, chief executive officer, JDA Software. “Pete brings to the table a wealth of financial experience that is perfectly aligned to the strategic needs of the Company, specifically in terms of successfully managing mergers and acquisitions and managing related financing. Additionally, and importantly, Pete is a good cultural fit for JDA, well aligned with our values of financial prudence and operational discipline. I am confident that Pete will bring significant complementary value to our executive leadership team.”
“I am excited to be joining JDA Software, and believe that my experience will support JDAs plans for growth in the supply chain software and services industry,” Hathaway said. “I look forward to working with the Companys leadership team and organization and supporting its growth and profitability objectives.”
