Kofax Provides Leading U.S.-Based BPO Provider with a Distributed Capture Solution

Tuesday 07. July 2009 - System Will Capture, Extract and Perfect Data and Images from Millions of Patient Medical Records Annually

Kofax plc (LSE: KFX), the leading provider of Intelligent Capture & Exchange solutions, today announced a $350,000 contract with EDCO Group, Inc., a leading business process outsourcing (BPO) provider of health document management services to more than 400 clients throughout the United States.

EDCO Group will utilize Kofax software to automate the processing of millions of patient medical records for hospital and health clinic customers. EDCO Group estimates it will initially process in excess of 15 million pages of records annually and expand that number to as many as 60 million annually within the next several years.

Supporting Electronic Medical Record (EMR) implementations, the solution processes medical records without the use of barcodes, thereby reducing staffing costs and improving operational efficiency for clients. It also ensures that electronic data is precisely identified and formatted, leading to quicker, more accurate data queries, faster processing times, greater cost savings and compliance with stringent patient health information privacy and security regulations.
