SafeAuto Insurance Modernizes Claims Communications with Thunderhead NOW

Tuesday 09. June 2009 - Direct-to-consumer auto insurance carrier selects industry’s only XML-based platform with open standards architecture

Thunderhead, recognized innovators in document automation and multi-channel communications solutions, today announce that SafeAuto Insurance Company has selected the Thunderhead NOW platform to streamline the creation and delivery of customer communications across the enterprise.

SafeAuto provides personal auto insurance on a consumer-direct basis exclusively through online and telephone distribution channels. The company specializes in providing low-cost, state-required minimum limits auto policies.

SafeAuto selected Thunderhead NOW to replace its legacy system in part due to the NOW platform’s XML-based design and support for a modern service-oriented architecture (SOA), which will enable rapid and flexible integration with the company’s existing infrastructure. Thunderhead’s support for ACORD standards was also a key differentiator. Thunderhead NOW will be integrated with SafeAuto’s new claims solution provided by Innovation Group (LSE: TIG.L).

Thunderhead NOW will enable SafeAuto to centrally control communications to improve brand consistency and reduce compliance risks. By using Thunderhead NOW’s dynamic templating capabilities, SafeAuto will be able to significantly reduce the number of templates it maintains, decreasing both complexity and costs. In the future, SafeAuto plans to further leverage Thunderhead’s multi-channel capabilities to move toward a more paperless communications process, reducing its reliance on third-party print vendors.
