Tuesday 09. June 2009 - Collaboration expected to draw global audience of local media executives to Orlando for DMS '09, Sept. 22-24, to examine the future of the rapidly evolving Yellow Pages industry

The Kelsey Group, a division of BIA Advisory Services, and Yellow Pages Association (www.ypassociation.org) today announced an agreement to partner on the programming and marketing of Directional Media Strategies 2009: The Multiplatform Opportunity (DMS ’09), which takes place Sept. 22-24, 2009, in Orlando, Florida (www.kelseygroup.com/DMS2009).

The collaboration brings together the objective perspective of the leading provider of research and analysis of the global Yellow Pages industry with the reach and influence of the largest trade organization representing the interests of print and digital local search providers.

“Our partnership with YPA combines the strengths of our two organizations resulting in the most complete and dynamic conference covering the global Yellow Pages business,” said Neal Polachek, CEO, The Kelsey Group. “We look forward to working with YPA to leverage our collective resources to create a valuable and compelling event.”

“We are excited to be partnering with The Kelsey Group on DMS ’09 to offer our members and all attendees fresh ideas, market intelligence and strategic relationships that will help them remain relevant and competitive, particularly during this era of extraordinary transformation,” said YPA President Neg Norton. “The conference will take a holistic approach to showcasing innovations and addressing challenges relevant to the entire industry, from publishers to marketers, sales channels and third-party groups.”

“The DMS ’09 agenda reflects the challenges and opportunities presented by the changing local media landscape,” said Charles Laughlin, senior vice president, The Kelsey Group, and DMS ’09 conference chairman. “Sessions will cover the priorities of today’s traditional and online publishers, which must balance the need to focus on the basics–selling and publishing the best directory products they can in the current economy, while finding ways to achieve sustainable, long-term growth and strategic advantage in a multiplatform marketplace.”

DMS ’09 is The Kelsey Group’s 30th conference dedicated to the future of the Yellow Pages industry, attracting the widest and most diverse audience of senior executives from around the world. Conference sponsors include 3L System Group, Acxiom, AgendiZe, Local.com, MapCreator, Marchex and Telmetrics.
