Lonnie L. Peppler-Moyer, President and Publisher of the Monroe Publishing Company, Elected Chair of The ESOP Association

Thursday 07. May 2009 - Lonnie L. Peppler-Moyer, President and Publisher of the Monroe Publishing Company in Monroe, Michigan, has been elected to serve as Chair of The ESOP Association. The ESOP Association is the national trade association for companies with employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and the leading voice in America for employee ownership.

Ms. Moyer is active in the Michigan Chapter of The ESOP Association and has served as the Chapter’s President in the past. She has also served as Vice Chair of The ESOP Association for the last two years.

The Monroe Publishing Company is located in Monroe, Michigan, and serves Monroe County with The Monroe Evening News, monroenews.com; monroetalks.com, which hosts chats about local news and coming events; and finditmonroe.com, which helps to match Monroe businesses with customers.

“Lonnie has been an extraordinary leader of the Michigan Chapter,” said J. Michael Keeling, president of The ESOP Association. “For the past few years, her contributions to the Board of Directors have greatly improved how the Association delivers services to our members. We are excited that Lonnie, the Chief Elected Officer of the Association, will be a primary voice for the next two years.”

The Board of Directors is the premier governing body of The ESOP Association. Seven members of its nine-person Board of Directors are elected by the Association’s Board of Governors who are elected by Association members.

The core cause of The ESOP Association is the belief that employee ownership will improve American competitiveness, increase productivity through greater employee participation, and strengthen our free enterprise economy.
