GIDUE and Nuova Castagnoli: a successful start
Thursday 23. April 2009 - Since January 2009 Nuova Castagnoli and GIDUE are cooperating to provide service to the 350 press installations worldwide, and to sell the GIDUE equipment on stock.
Good service level.
Due to an intensive team work between the two companies the GIDUE customers are claiming today the same quality of service as in the standards of GIDUE. Roberto Spreafico, President of IBE S.r.l. (Italy), who owns nine GIDUE presses: “We get spare parts in time, we receive good service, and the technical team is as efficient as always during the years. We did not really see any difference.”. Mr. Neumann, Managing Director of LOGO Etiketten (D) who owns two full-servo E-Combat presses confirms “After the very first days where there was some uncertainty, everything started to run as smoothly as always. The Customer Satisfaction office is efficient and pro-active, in fact they are the same people as before, and we are very happy with the level of service we are getting until now, and especially together with the full support of the local agent Chromos GmbH.”.
High sales volume.
Despite the very uncertain economic times the sales of existing equipment went unexpectedly fast and in less than three months 16 (sixteen) presses have been sold, with a wide range of configurations.
1. A Quadra press has been sold to the Latin American market to a new customer who is using the press (four UV Flexo colours) for back-side labels.
2. Another Quadra has been sold to a customer in Europe to an existing GIDUE customer, to be used as an integration to its existing Combat 280 six colours.
3. A third Quadra has been sold to a German customer who will use it as a support to its existing five multicolour Combat flexo presses to print the 3-4 colours label runs.
4. The last Quadra on stock was sold to an existing GIDUE customer with two Combat presses in the North African region.
5. An 8 colours UV Flexo F-Combat for the production of Film and Labels has been sold in the Mid African continent for the production of self-adhesive labels and of shrinkable sleeves. The converter has equipment from other press manufacturers but was convinced by the stability of the Combat press with all the substrates.
6. An 8 colours S-Combat has been sold to a converter in South Africa who had also never had business relations with GIDUE and who decided based on several comparative tests which have shown a clear advantage of the Flower flexo head ease of operation and print quality in comparison to the alternative technologies in the market.
7. A 10 colours servo driven UV Flexo Intelligent Combat, with automatic pressure adjustments, Intelligent Register, and several converting options has been sold in Eastern Europe to a customer who had no former relations with GIDUE, and who has been impressioned by the flexibility of the press on all sorts of filmic substrates and the reduced set-up times.
8. A 2 colours UV Flexo servo driven E-Combat press, with non-stop unwinder and rewinder for the production of Aluminium blisters for the pharmaceutical industry has been sold to an Italian converter, who already owns a similar GIDUE press.
9. A new 6 colours UV Flexo servo driven E-Combat has been sold to a German converter for the production of multi substrates and self adhesive labels. This new press completes the range of other three E-Combat presses.
10. An 8 colours UV Flexo S-Combat has been sold to a French converter who is now doubling its productivity, by adding a “twin” press to its existing production line.
11. A 10 colours UV Flexo S-Combat with several converting options has been sold to complete the production range of an Indian converter who is specialized in “special” high added-value labels, and has bought until today three “twin” S-Combat presses.
12. A full servo 8 colours Intelligent Combat, with motorized pressure adjustments has been chosen by an Italian converter to enter the shrinkable sleeve and mineral water film labels markets and widen its market offer, after having successfully tested the reliability of his two S-Combat presses on self-adhesive labels.
13. An 8 colours UV Flexo S-Combat has been sold to a new converter in the label business in India, because after several comparative tests, no other press could give the same ease of use and friendliness in press operations.
14. An 8 colours servo driven E-Combat has been sold to ATB GmbH (D), a converter who already owns three Combat presses: ” I have to admit that at the beginning I doubted, I decided to give full confidence to the new team, and I have to say I was right. The machine is perfect and, what surprised me, it is even better in every single detail than the other presses I have, which are already very good. The care and the attention given to the product are extreme, and the people are enthusiastic. I made the right choice” says Mr. Husemann, Managing Director of ATB.
15. Vannes Etiquettes in France had no relation with GIDUE before, and decided to buy a quite sophisticated servo driven CE – Combat 8 colours UV Flexo, a fully servo-driven press which can convert film, labels and carton. “I have another press from another manufacturer, but the productivity and the versatility of my new Combat is simply not comparable. I compared many different offers in the market, but I have decided for the quality of the product but also because I met a dynamic team of people who want to show their commitment. It is a pleasure to work with them. I trust that they will be a very successful team.” Mr. Xavier de Poulpique, President of Vannes Etiquette.
16. A complete multi-process combination Xpannd press, with 5 offset units, 3 fixed UV Flexo units, 1 interchangeable flexo unit, 1 rotary screen RSI Stork unit, 1 Heavy Duty Hot stamping unit with the patented magnesium plate system, has been sold to an Italian customer, for the production of wine labels and industrial labels. The customer already owns three Nuova Castagnoli offset presses, and chose the Xpannd press among others due to its extreme fast changeover in case of multi-process high added value labels production.
The statistics show that 40% of the sales were made to new customers, and 60% to existing GIDUE customers, which confirms the constant ratio of the GIDUE sales during the past years, a clear sign of trust and loyalty from the market.
“I was surprised to see how good was the market response for our existing stock, also thanks to the active support of Nuova Castagnoli”, said Antonio Patane’ a Liquidator of Gidue – “People seem to like the GIDUE technology very much”.
Mr Patanè also informed that “GIDUE S.p.A. in liquidation and the Trade Unions have signed a set of agreements including the one correlated to the proposal of Nuova Castagnoli to continue activities of GIDUE.”.
