American Media, Inc. Names Michael Roscoe as Chairman of Distribution Services Inc.
Wednesday 15. April 2009 - David J. Pecker, Chairman, President and CEO of American Media, Inc. (AMI) today announced that Michael Roscoe has been named Chairman of Distribution Services, Inc. (DSI). DSI is a wholly owned subsidiary of AMI and is the leading in-store marketing and merchandising company in the country. Mr. Roscoe will report to Mr. Pecker.
Mr. Roscoe had previously served as DSI’s Chairman until 2004. Since leaving DSI, Mr. Roscoe has remained as a consultant to the company. Current DSI President & CEO, Mike Porche, who has had a close working relationship with Mr. Roscoe for the past 25 years, will now report to him.
“I am delighted that Mike has agreed to accept the Chairman’s position at DSI,” said Mr. Pecker. “The company is enjoying unprecedented growth, and in addition to its 8 magazine publishing clients, has added in-store responsibilities for leading retailers like Wal-Mart, Kroger and CVS. Mike’s experience will play an important part in DSI growing its business.”
Mr. Porche was instrumental in bringing Mr. Roscoe back to DSI. “Mike Roscoe’s knowledge about magazine marketing is unmatched in our industry,” said Mr. Porche. “Working again with him at DSI means our clients, both publishing and non-publishing, will have the benefit of his talent and insight.”
Mr. Roscoe added “I am excited about returning to DSI and about working with David and Mike once again. The three of us made a great team before and together we will navigate DSI through today’s complex and challenging marketplace.”
Each week, DSI field agents visit more than 8,000 retail outlets and install checkout pockets and displays, refill pockets, perform in-store data collection, and provide reset services (monitoring products on shelves and at checkout).
