Thursday 26. March 2009 - Introducing soft crops.

Soft crops is the most important feature in this release. Users of Escenic Content Studio may create several different soft crops of an image for use on different parts of the website and in different channels.

The different aspect ratios are defined by the website designers, ensuring that users the different crops always fit with the site’s design. The different crops are presented with easy-to-understand names such as: “frontpage teaser”, “widescreen”, “square”, etc. All the different crops are managed in the same view in Escenic Content Studio, making the cropping quick and effective.

Updates of the original image will automatically update all the soft crops, and published images will immediately be updated across all websites and channels. Updates may be done in Escenic Content Studio, using an external program (such as Adobe Photoshop, accessed from within Escenic Content Studio), or by re-importing from an external system. It is possible to restrict editing of the original image based on roles, groups and permissions.

As with all images, Escenic Content Engine automatically generates all the different image sizes for use on all websites and channels.
