Grafitalia and Converflex lead the printing and converting industry to take advantage of the opportunities created by innovation

Wednesday 25. March 2009 - Innovating to mark a turning point and regain trust in the upcoming recovery and to avoid missing out on the rapid evolution of today’s world.

Technological evolution is having the greatest impact on the printing and communication industries: the doors open on Grafitalia and Converflex while the world’s economy is turned upside down by huge changes and it is vital to find anchorage points. The two exhibitions will take place at FieraMilano from March 24th to 28th as part of the “Cosmic Event”, the name chosen by the organizers Centrexpo spa and Ipack-Ima spa to describe this one-of-a-kind event. They represent a key factor both for creating market stability and for opening up new perspectives.

In spite of the current difficulties 700 companies will participate in the two events as exhibitors, 40% coming from 31 countries outside of Italy. The Italian technology industry still plays a leading role, after the positive results of 2008 driven by exports. The fast evolution of printing technology, especially in the digital segment, makes it possible to improve the efficiency of the existing machinery and improve flexibility and eco-sustainability of production; this in turn creates new business opportunities.

Grafitalia and Converflex, two prestigious exhibitions organized by Centrexpo spa, are well-established as key exhibitions for the European, North-African, Middle East and Eastern Europe markets. This edition features a wide product offer both for traditional printing and converting and for new forms of communication. The latest innovations in digital technology will be on display in Pavilion 14 in the “Digitvision” area, the showcase for all the advances in the printing industry which result in new production methods and business models.

The exhibition also focuses on other applications that are undergoing important developments. One of these is Large Format printing, which is creating strong synergies with communications. Another example is Textile Printing, which is revolutionizing the fashion industry thanks to the latest innovations offering more flexibility and versatility. Both large format and textile printing have their own dedicated thematic route within Grafitalia.

As innovation has a huge impact on technology, printing supports are also represented in the Orizzonte Carta area, as customary in cooperation with Assocarta (the trade association for the paper industry representing pulp, paper and board manufacturing companies in Italy) and chosen by paper mills to display their top products.

Grafitalia and Converflex, part of the Cosmic Event in partnership with IPACK IMA, will enjoy an unprecedented international visibility. The show will be visited by 147 delegates from 25 countries thanks to the great promotional work carried out in cooperation with ICE (the Italian Trade Commission), which includes international road-shows presenting the exhibitions to the most influential and qualified industry professionals and buyers from target markets.

Grafitalia and Converflex as customary combine the exhibition with meetings and seminars allowing visitors to experience first-hand the technology on display and discuss hot topics connected with the represented industries. Thus, Textile Printing and Large Format will have their own dedicated events; new for this edition is the “PRINT Buyer Club”, a meeting area for printing service providers and managers from communication companies, that focus more on the final products and applications rather than on technology.
