Tuesday 17. March 2009 - The 3rd edition of the UK’s leading integrated processing and packaging exhibition, Total Processing & Packaging 2010, will provide German companies with the ideal opportunity to promote their cutting-edge machinery, equipment, materials, packs and services to major UK industries.

Total Processing & Packaging 2010 showcases production line solutions from beginning to end, covering all sectors including raw materials, solids and fluids handling, control and instrumentation, FMCG processing equipment, industrial plant and equipment, contract packing and manufacturing, and packaging machinery. In addition, at the core of the exhibition will be the Packaging Innovation Hub promoting packaging materials, containers, pack design and marketing, smart and intelligent packaging, and sustainable solutions.

Total Processing & Packaging, which takes place every three years, attracts key professionals from major sectors including food & drink, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, household products and chemicals. In 2007 there were over 680 exhibitors from 30 countries, with 11,109 registered visitors (ABC Audited) from many blue-chip companies – including Arla Foods, Coca Cola Enterprises, Coty Manufacturing, Diageo Global Supply, Estée Lauder, GlaxoSmithKline, Masterfoods and Reckitt Benckiser – seeking solutions to their packaging and processing requirements. 20% of visitors were from overseas. Visitors were able to compare, evaluate and make investment decisions in every part of the processing and packaging production line.

Exhibitors at the last event found it well worthwhile. Fileder Filter Systems took over 700 new leads in the first two days and BFI reported an increase in quality leads from both UK-based customers and overseas. Many companies, including Adpak, Enercon Industries, Engelmann & Buckham, Winkworth Machinery, MJ Maillis and Autobox, made sales on their stands. Martin Webster, Managing Director, Planet Flowline, reported the best results of any exhibition he had attended in the last 18 months, while David George, Business Development Manager for DS Norris declared the first two days of the show “the most successful we have done in the last ten years both in number and quality of visitors.” Datalase Ltd said the exhibition provided the perfect forum for the launch of its latest product.

Plans for the 2010 event are currently being finalised but they will include a major free seminar programme, covering the latest major issues and future developments for the industry.

“Total Processing & Packaging has established a reputation as the UK’s largest and most complete event for machinery, equipment, materials and services for processing and packaging,” comments Liz Finlay, Exhibitor Director.

“Visitors value the opportunity to meet leading suppliers under one roof and seek out the latest innovations and solutions, for example to achieve improved productivity and efficiency or satisfy environmental needs.”

Total Processing & Packaging takes place at the NEC Birmingham, UK, from May 25th to 27th 2010.
