Unique Central Cleaning System from Lagafors offers: higher flow and increased range

VCC Lagafors

Thursday 05. March 2009 - In continuous evolution, the well-known Central Cleaning System, CCS, from Lagafors, now offers increased flow capacity, up to 600 l/min, for up to 20 simultaneous users.

Thanks to a further development step in the Lagafors low water pressure pump series, LWP 20 and LWP 40, the CCS system can now run with the same benefits as before in the pressure and flow range between 20 – 80 bar and from 90 l/min up to 600 l/min. With a LWP pump from Lagafors up to 20 operators can be using the system at the same time in various areas in the production premises. The LWP is a vertical multistage centrifugal pump, which is available for wall or floor installation. It can be combined with the other components in the CCS system for food industries where low pressure is preferable, e.g. breweries, dairies etc.

For installations where higher pressure is needed, e.g. in the meat and fish industry, the recommended alternative is the MPP (Medium Pressure Pump), which provides high capacity for up to 5 simultaneous users. If needed, the CCS system allows for up to three MPPs to be connected together, delivering a 60-80 bar pressure and 270 l flow/minute to up to 15 contemporaneous users. By using a frequency control unit, the pumps run smoothly and eliminate the pressure shocks between the users when the different satellite stations are activated separately.

“We invested in a complete Central Cleaning System from Lagafors in 2006”, says Kristoffer Lund, Production Manager at Finax Bakery (part of the Abdon Mills Group). “From the start the system consisted of a LWP 2090 pump, a VCC chemical centre and three VMS satellite stations. Today we have added two more VMS satellites and we are extremely pleased with the installation”, he continues. “The cleaning process has been greatly simplified and the cleaning time has decreased so much that we have reallocated one person from the nightshift to other tasks. Thanks to the VCC, the centralized chemical centre, we have a much safer plant today, as our operators don’t handle chemical concentrates any longer. Our consumption of chemicals has decreased with 40% and furthermore, as we are now able to buy our solutions in big 1000 l containers, we also get a better price”, Kristoffer states. “With a pay-back time of eight months for the whole CCS system, I can only express my satisfaction with Lagafors and their equipment”, Kristoffer Lund concludes.
The system
The CCS system offers numerous benefits for the customers such as high dosing accuracy, a single location for service, maintenance and settings as well as central and safe handling of chemicals. The CCS also enables the customers to control and thereby cost optimize their cleaning process. The Central Cleaning System (CSS) from Lagafors is made up of five main components that together meet high demands for capacity, performance and quality.

By combining the components of the CCS concept, customers can enjoy cost savings of up to 35% compared to most present cleaning systems and methods. These savings, and a decreased environmental impact, are achieved thanks to reduced use of warm water and chemicals, as well as less wastewater.
