Enrichment for the cold milk process – Westfalia Separator procool

Separator MSE 500

Friday 06. March 2009 - In cold milk separation, energy savings, lower operating costs and higher protein quality are the top priorities. With the Westfalia Separator procool-System, GEA Westfalia Separator Process is launching an extremely successful machine which covers a large capacity spectrum.

This separator model is characterised by a capacity and separating efficiency in cold milk separation which at present cannot be achieved by any other machine available on the market.

The separator type MSE 500 used for this purpose is the first fully hermetic cold milk centrifuge on the market which works with a belt drive rather than a gear. From the point of view of the user, this represents significant progress. A belt drive increases the availability and the user additionally benefits from a further improved degree of efficiency of the drive technology. A new hermetic design has also been implemented in the machine which takes into consideration the physical restrictions of the high viscosity of the milk fat. A very good feedback has been received from the users also in terms of separating efficiency and operating times: in the field, the cold milk separator type MSE 500 can be operated for over 20 hours and longer within the cleaning cycles.

New cold milk machine for the medium capacity range
The concept has been so well received that there is a demand for a smaller machine. GEA Westfalia Separator Process has therefore expanded the product portfolio to include a further machine for the medium and lower capacity range. The successful concept with optimum positioning of the rising channels and no compromises with the drive is realized here too.
