Turkish stainless steel pipemaker Borsen Boru to expand capacity
Wednesday 04. March 2009 - Turkish stainless steel welded pipe maker Borsen Boru is planning to significantly expand its capacity.
Borsen says it will expand capacity from the current 1,000 tonnes/year to 8,000 t/y with two additional mills and that this investment is expected to be finished in two years’ time. The aim is to raise exports from 15% to 35% of sales.
Borsen is currently producing stainless steel welded pipe of 19-76.1mm diameter with 0.5-4mm wall thicknesses. The company also produces 15x15mm-60x60mm hollow sections at its mill in Istanbul.
Feedstock for production comes from EU countries, and exports go mostly to the Balkan states and France and Middle East.
