Bamboo AutoPortal Now Available to Newspapers
Wednesday 04. March 2009 - As traditional media companies and auto dealers struggle for traction in a new economic landscape, Travidia Inc., the leader in online marketing services for newspapers in North America and Europe has launched a new product and perhaps a new business model that both industries are clamoring to be a part of.
Travidias Bamboo AutoPortal is an Internet-based auto sales module that allows newspaper websites and auto dealers to rebuild the partnerships and revenue that were so lucrative in the pre-Internet economy. And initial sales show that Travidia is clearly onto something. Even before its official launch, 500 auto dealers had purchased the Bamboo Autos, plug n play technology that distributes ad content far more widely than newspapers or dealerships could on their own.
“Its a refreshingly simple and affordable online auto sales tool, but completely cutting edge at the same time,” says James Green, Travidias chief marketing officer.
Inventories can be uploaded and published in minutes, says Green, sales leads are generated through advertising channels, and inventory inquiries can be addressed as quickly as the dealer desires. It also offers what Travidia promises is the most efficient Internet posting tool in the industry.
“More than 100,000 sales leads were generated last year alone,” says Green. “Thats when we knew we were really onto something, and we realized making it available to media companies could generate even more revenue for both partners.”
Users of Bamboo Autos report that anyone who knows how to use e-mail can set up and maintain a customized Web portal for their own company.
“During the first two weeks, we sold two vehicles. The profit generated was enough to cover the cost of a full year of service,” says Dan Hoffenberg, Regal Nissan, Roswell, GA. “Bamboo has been great, not only as a low-cost advertising solution but also offering excellent technical support and customization. I wish I received this kind of service from my other paid advertisers.”
“I used to enter cars from site to site (all 50 of them),” says Larry Attwoods, Yelm Auto Sales, Yelm, WA. “Its really made life a lot easier. Im getting more responses now because it allows me to keep up with our inventory easier.”
