Edipresse and Publicitas redefine their partnership

Monday 02. March 2009 - On 1 January 2010, Edipresse will take over the management of advertising sales for all its own titles. Publicitas will remain a preferred partner of Edipresse.

Edipresse and Publicitas have decided to reshape the way they work together as their current partnership agreement comes to an end on 31 December 2009.

From 1 January 2010, Edipresse Switzerland will handle advertising sales for all its titles by itself. Until then, Publicitas remains the exclusive advertising sales agency for Edipresse newspapers, which with titles like Le Matin, Tribune de Genève and 24 Heures is the leading publisher in Western Switzerland.

Edipresse already has its own advertising sales unit, Edipub, which handles advertising for the group’s magazines. From 2010 onwards Edipub will expand its activities to cover the group’s daily newspapers and periodicals as well. Around 100 employees will work exclusively for Edipresse, generating a turnover of CHF 180 – 200 million.

As a leading player in the market, Publicitas remains a preferred partner of Edipresse and will continue to work for its publications as a non-exclusive advertising sales agency. Publicitas will retain a strong media sales organization in the Lake Geneva region in order to continue developing its services for advertising clients in this key market, and to keep actively promoting and selling the advertising offered by partner media from the region and other parts of the country.

Edipresse and Publicitas will continue to do everything possible to satisfy the requirements of their advertising clients.
