Adalis to Lead IoPP Seminar on Transport Packaging

Thursday 26. February 2009 - One-Day Educational Sessions Cover Sustainability and Cost-Cutting Strategies

Adalis Corporation, a global packaging and supply chain solutions company, today announced that it has partnered with the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) to launch an educational seminar series. Tom Blanck, business unit manager of Adalis Packaging Solutions, will lead the one-day session on “Transport Packaging: Where Cost-Cutting Meets Sustainability,” which will be held four times in 2009. The first session will take place March 12, 2009 in Irvine, Calif.
“More than ever, packagers are seeking new cost-savings and productivity opportunities, and we are excited to partner with Adalis and leverage its leadership in packaging and sustainability to deliver this insightful and educational seminar,” said Jim Peters, director of education and certification, IoPP.
Developed by IoPP in conjunction with Adalis Corp., the seminar was developed for packagers who find themselves with greater transport packaging responsibilities, cost reduction objectives and sustainability improvement initiatives. Geared to those with experience who want a fresh perspective on how to identify cost savings opportunities, the seminar features the impacts that packaging has on logistics systems. Besides the basics of transport packaging, subjects covered include rigors of the distribution environment, tools used for packaging optimization and cost-reduction strategies. Participants will gain new learning from industry best practices, discuss logistics case studies as well as submit their own situations for group analysis and discussion.
“IoPP is the forefront authority in the packaging industry with the latest programs, information, tools and tips to help packagers succeed,” said Blanck. “By working together, we can help packagers think differently and apply new strategies and solutions to address today’s top-of-mind challenges. We’re looking forward to working with IoPP and providing attendees with practical insights for decreasing packaging and logistics costs while improving sustainability within their companies.”
The “Transport Packaging: Where Cost-Cutting Meets Sustainability” seminar will take place March 12, 2009 at the Hilton Hotel in Irvine, Calif. and on April 16, 2009 at the Pearson Convention Center in Toronto, Canada. Registration fee is $485 for IoPP members, $545 for non-members.
