United Business Media International Rebrands Annual RFID World Conference & Exhibition to Include an Expanded Community of Tracking, Tracing and Automation Technologies

United Business Media International Media (UBMi) today unveils The RF Edge Expo, an annual conference and exhibition formally known as RFID World, to showcase providers and automatic identification technologies such as radio frequency identification (RFID) bar code, location-based, advanced sensors and mobile computing. The event also highlights hybrid tracking technologies and tracing solutions to improve productivity and visibility throughout an enterprise.

“RFID technology suppliers have been at the forefront of a move to expand computing power and functionality to the further edges of the enterprise network, and The RF Edge Expo reflects that trend,” said Timothy Downs, Strategic Director for the RF Edge business unit at UBMi. “Enterprise users and integrators require information and demonstrations of RFID, as well as other solutions. We believe our community of technology suppliers will benefit from one exhibition that showcases a wide variety of edge computing solutions to tag, track and optimize assets, people and processes.”

Aside from The RF Edge Expo 2009, UBMi also produces industry exhibitions for chemical component manufacturers, health and beauty product manufacturers, the cruise ship industry, food and pharmaceutical suppliers.

The RF Edge Expo takes place Oct. 12-14, 2009 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Dallas. The company also announces plans to produce an online news and information portal, www.therfedge.com, as well as specialty conferences and seminars focused on Food Traceability and IT Asset Tracking.
