ePages to Support Parallels Automation and Application Packaging Standard
Monday 09. February 2009 - ePages - Europe's leading provider of SaaS e-commerce solutions for hosting providers and SMEs, announces the availability of a Webservices interface to connect its software with Parallels Operations Automation SaaS module.
The company delivers RPM packages for the Red Hat Package Manager, which go in line with the Application Packaging Standard (APS). With this solution, the web development software is now seamlessly integrated with Parallels.
Parallels Operations Automation (POA) enables the simple connection of ePages to hosted web portals so that service providers no longer have to establish their own proprietary environment to manage the mass deployment of shop applications.
“By integrating our web development software with Parallels we are enabling our provider customers to easily manage large numbers of online stores on dedicated servers. Our installed base of over 50,000 online stores that are running in shared hosting environments now have a seamless upgrade path to dedicated servers and virtually dedicated servers,” said Wilfried Beeck, CEO of ePages.
The RPM Packages created by ePages have been adapted to the Application Packaging Standard (APS) and support all requirements to automatically install the web development software on dedicated servers that are managed by Parallels. Enterprise customers working with dedicated or virtual servers are now able to install the SaaS e-commerce solutions software with one simple click.
“The integration of Parallels Automation and ePages directly meets the needs of our existing joint customers, from big telcos to smaller hosting companies,” said Soeren von Varchmin, VP of SaaS, Parallels. “Parallels Automation is all about increasing efficiency and the integration of ePages will save these joint customers considerable time. The new ePages APS package adds real value to our SaaS e-commerce solutions module.”
