XyEnterprise Announces Name Change of Flagship Product to Reflect Expanding Capabilities
Monday 09. February 2009 - LiveContent is the New Name for ContentaView
XyEnterprise, a leading developer of award-winning XML content management and multi-channel delivery solutions, today announced it has changed the name of its flagship product ContentaView to LiveContent. The product was renamed to better reflect LiveContents expanding functionality and applicability.
“While ContentaView was a well respected brand, it implied that we were offering a standard viewer technology linked only to our Contenta CMS platform,” said Mary Parsons, director of marketing communications, XyEnterprise. “This technology represents the next generation of content delivery and presentation, and it can be integrated with almost any content source, making the name ContentaView somewhat of a misnomer.”
LiveContent is more than a viewer – it contains a portable XML database that houses a wealth of mission-critical information that can be searched, filtered and rendered on the fly. Users of LiveContent can define their particular situation and be delivered exactly the information that is germane to them. In addition, integration with diagnostic and parts ordering systems via a powerful API helps create an end to end field repair solution.
Rhonda Wainwright, S1000D and IETM specialist, XyEnterprise offers this example; “Say you are a French-speaking technician troubleshooting a problem with a medical imaging system, you will see French-language content that is relevant only to the model you are troubleshooting, while another technician accessing the same IETM can see English-language content relevant to a different model.” Wainwright adds, “Unlike a generic electronic document that forces information consumers to sort through all languages and models to find content relevant to them, LiveContent filters out non-relevant content to provide the exact information needed. And LiveContents incremental update capability ensures that information is always up to date.”
Another key factor in the rebranding to LiveContent is the expanding nature of the markets the product serves. In addition to technical documentation applications, LiveContent is ideally suited for the electronic delivery of medical information, consumer product data, educational materials, legal information, government publications and much more. In addition, LiveContent can be accessed via CD, DVD, USB thumb drive, Internet, intranet, handheld device or as a desktop application.
XyEnterprise is offering a free demonstration of LiveContent on February 11, 2009 at 1 p.m. EST during a complimentary webinar with content management and information design firm Comtech Services. The webinar is designed to show participants how to make their documents more dynamic by unleashing the power of dynamic delivery with DITA.
LiveContent was introduced almost three years ago to address the complex technical publication needs of the aerospace and defense industries. The product quickly became a leader in the delivery of interactive text, graphic and multimedia content. Previously focused on XML standards such as S1000D, civil aviations ATA iS2200 and military specifications used by the U.S. Army, Air Force and Navy, LiveContent now allows users to dynamically filter and deliver DITA or other XML data.
