Thursday 05. February 2009 - 350-seat DTI Editorial solution goes to DELO, Slovenia

Digital Technology International (DTI) has today announced that Delo d d, Ljubljana, Slovenia, has ordered a 350-user DTI ContentPublisher solution.

Delo (meaning ‘Labour’) is a major Slovene national daily newspaper.

Peter Puhan, Chief Executive Officer, Delo, said, “We researched several well-known systems, visited existing users, and finally selected DTI who agreed to install a test system. The success of this trial confirmed that DTI technology completely meets our needs today – and we believe will do so into the multidimensional future. The professionalism and expertise of the company’s staff has also been excellent.”

The DTI ContentPublisher solution is based on the Caché high-performance multidimensional database that is able to manage and store text, photos, graphics and sound files. It includes DTI applications for newspaper-unique needs such as wire, remote reporter and contributor input. DTI has also adapted and seamlessly integrated Adobe applications such as InCopy for reporter input, InDesign for design and pagination, and Dreamweaver for Website creation.

In the continuation of a 20-year collaboration, DTI worked closely with Adobe to create true multi-user functionality. With the DTI versions of Adobe InDesign, and Dreamweaver more than one person can work on the same page at the same time.

According to Ernst-J. Komberg, managing director of DTI GmbH, Germany, the installation at Delo further reinforces DTI’s leadership in the region where already four of the five newspapers in neighbouring Croatia are using DTI solutions. The DTI solution at Delo, which replaces an in-house developed system, is scheduled to go-live in the second quarter of 2009.

While many newspaper and vendor companies are laying-off staff, DTI is currently hiring more people in order to support its continually growing media customer base.
