A diamond at the Pack Expo Chicago

Tuesday 30. December 2008 - A diamond fascinates and creates numerous associations. It is a symbol for lasting value and durability. This is exactly why Robatech invited global packaging machinery manufacturers (OEM’s) in addition to large multinational corporations (end users) to its "VIP Evening".

On the one hand to present them the latest Robatech applicator head the “Diamond”, and on the other to raffle a real diamond (0.24 ct. / triple exc.) to the attendees.

The Robatech “Diamond”, (patent pending) is the world’s first fully insu-lated applicator head for hotmelt adhesives. It offers the highest operator protection with energy savings of up to 60 percent. This fully insulated head protects the machine operator from burns if he comes into physical contact. In addition to saving energy, it keeps the temperature of the adhesive constant during machine cycle time. This in turn en-sures an even and optimal processing viscosity which is important in developing an ideal glue pattern with accurate and consistent equip-ment repeatability.

Marcel Meyer, CEO of Robatech AG, Switzerland, proudly informed the attending VIPs of all the advantages of this new Robatech product. This most important packaging fair in the USA was the right occasion to familiarize these influential representatives of this new development. Marcel Meyer thanked those present for taking the trouble to actively participate in an additional event at the end of a long exhibition day. He also took the opportunity to introduce the American Robatech organizations, i.e. Robatech Northeast, Robatech Midwest, Robatech West and the Robatech USA Headquarters in Atlanta.

Meyer then went ahead with the raffle among the 60 VIPs. Each guest was invited to pick a champagne glass. All glasses, except one, con-tained a zircon of gem quality. One special glass, unknown to all, con-tained a real diamond. Everyone clinked glasses to toast the new Robatech “Diamond” applicator head. To determine if the object in the glass was genuine or not all participants took their diamond to be weighed. Two experts assisted and eventually traced the winner: Mr Aldo La Iacona, Technical Manager of Rotomac S.r.l., Bollate (MI), Italy. Robatech wishes Mr Aldo La Iacona much joy with his real diamond. The evening was a big success!
