Sponsorship for Scheufelens 2009 wall calendar
Tuesday 23. December 2008 - Scheufelens prestigious wall calendar is to be released in 2009. The release of this popular calendar, which was thrown into doubt when the company filed for insolvency in July 2008, has been secured thanks to support from design agency Strichpunkt, publishers Hermann Schmidt Mainz, and printshops Universitätsdruckerei H. Schmidt and Graphische Betriebe Eberl.
It is due to the outstanding commitment of long-term partners that Papierfabrik Scheufelen is able to produce its wall calendar in 2009. The Stuttgart-based design agency Strichpunkt, the Immenstadt printshop Graphische Betriebe Eberl and Mainz-based publishers Hermann Schmidt Mainz and printshop Universitätsdruckerei H. Schmidt are working together to design, print and market this prestigious calendar. “We all feel that we have had a very close relationship with Scheufelen over the years and we value the quality and innovative papers that this family company supplies. Thats why we believe this highly regarded calendar should continue to adorn walls, standing testament to the companys high-quality coated papers,” explains Bertram Schmidt-Friderichs, Managing Director of Hermann Schmidt Verlag.
The Scheufelen wall calendar has won a host of international design awards over the years and the new calendar will carry on these exceptional standards. A total of 2,009 unique copies will be printed, containing 24,108 original offset lithographs and signed personally by Dr. Ulrich Scheufelen. The key theme of the calendar is the four elements of fire, water, earth and air and a fifth – love.
Scheufelen is thanking its partners and all who appreciate high-quality coated papers by developing yet another innovative product, due to be launched in January 2009. This latest development is an addition to the companys range of successful premium papers, which is undergoing rapid expansion. By 2012, the company hopes to be producing 80,000 metric tons of premium papers each year.
