TEAC Medical Disc Publishing Product: Increased Durability and Enhanced Serviceability

TEAC Medical Disc Publishing Systems help medical facilities meet the increasing demand for the creation of patient media across the medical enterprise. TEAC has designed a product which is extremely robust and reliable. All of the major components of its new product line are manufactured by TEAC (Robotics, Recorders and Printer) which is an industry first. This manufacturing control gives TEAC complete control of finished solution and the ability to adapt to the market very quickly. The TEAC product provides an institution with enormous flexibility: A printing technology which provides the highest resolution available today along with a low cost per print.

The new TEAC Publishing systems contain three burners which provide the user increased throughput and a choice between CD and DVD when recording patient studies. The multiple recorders also provide the site an easy way to upgrade to Blu-Ray for shelf archive, while continuing to maintain dual drive CD/DVD capability for speed and capacity relating to media distribution. The recorders are manufactured by TEAC providing high recording capability, faster tray operation, self checking mechanism for recording quality and a function to count total recording time for easy maintenance. The TEAC systems all come with embedded servers which are capable of hosting SST’s DICOM application along with storing patient studies.

The latest generations of digital modalities pose no problem for TEAC’s new Medical Disc Publishing Systems. TEAC’s systems are designed to receive and store large data sets while producing patient media at a very rapid pace. As the industry has embraced the use of CD and DVD for image exchange over the past few years, CD burners have quickly become a mission critical device in any institution. TEAC has designed a new CD/DVD picking mechanism that provides unsurpassed reliability. The days of mis-picks or putting two pieces of media in a drive tray are over. TEAC has also designed a new robotic arm for increased reliability. The need to schedule a service call to realign the robotic arm is over with the new TEAC Systems. TEAC also includes a front load DVD-ROM on its new systems for quick easy import of DICOM studies. The integrated DVD-ROM will eliminate the need to buy an external device for import or struggle to utilize one of the burners inside the system being used for production for import.

TEAC America, Inc. and SST Group, Inc. will present their product lines for the medical market at the RSNA Show, at Chicago’s McCormick Place, Chicago, IL, November 30-December 5th, 2008, South Building – Hall A, Booth # 3704.
