ANL Plastics, multi-materials thermoformer

Tuesday 25. November 2008 - ANL Plastics N.V. is one of the largest players in the European market for customized thermoformed packaging.

Also in the field of basic materials, ANL Plastics proves to be an innovative partner and aims to become the preferred partner for its customers.

With its biomaterials, ANL Plastics presented itself as a multi-material thermoformer for the first time at the 2008 Interpack trade show in Düsseldorf.

In addition to the conventional synthetics such as PP, PE, PS and HDPE, new or existing products are also developed in biodegradable materials such as PLA, Plantic and bioplast. These materials have their own specifications, customized to suit the customer’s application.

Recently, ANL Plastics started developing biodegradable PP. With the use of some additives, this material disintegrates into microscopic fragments after a certain period of time when exposed to UV light.
The first thermoformed trays of this brand new material will be on display later this year at various trade shows.

Furthermore, ANL Plastics also commercialises packaging combining various materials.
For example, the Piramyd, a combined plastic and cardboard packaging, proves to be a high-quality alternative to the conventional overall plastic pie blister. In addition to optimal visibility and good presentation of the contents, recycling proves to be ideal thanks to the easy separation between the plastic blister in APET or RPET and the cardboard base.

The Visiopac packaging is also a concept enabling different materials combinations. A peelable plastic ring connects base and lid, which can be made of different materials. Various Visiopac applications are in the market: aluminium, APET and PP.
In a nutshell, ANL Plastics thermoforms according to the customer’s specifications, not only in terms of shape, but certainly also by choice
of materials.
