El Pais in Uruguay choose IDAB WAMAC for their new mailroom system

Wednesday 29. October 2008 - El Pais is the largest and most prestigious media group in Uruguay covering television and radio broad casting, internet and printing plants for printing 24 hours, 7 days per week. The newly built printing facility including the press and mailroom is the biggest investment in the history of the 90 year old media group.

For the newspaper printing press with three folders, being installed by the end of the year they have decided to buy an IDAB WAMAC mailroom system. The system consist of three belt conveyor system from folder to stacker, three stack/packing lines each including high speed stacker TS 800, on-line bundle addressing, high capacity strapper PSU 6030-K and programmer PRO v5.
The system is design to handle press speeds up to 70 000 cph and will allow El Pais to automate the complete process from folder to dispatch area. The reason for investment is high automation for improved productivity and the possibility for programmed production.
