Consultation process for VPK Packaging Groups papermill in Selby (UK)
Monday 15. September 2008 - Today the management of Rigid Paper Ltd, an English subsidiary of VPK Packaging Group, announces that it intents to start on Monday 15th of September 2008 a consultation process with trade union representatives.
The management is forced to undertake this process because Rigid Paper Ltd is suffering from the unfavourable conditions affecting the entire paper industry due to the increase in costs, primarily of energy.
Rigid Paper Ltd, located in Selby (North Yorkshire) manufactures paper for packaging. In the 2007 financial year, the output of Rigid Paper Ltd came to 70,000 tonnes and the firms turnover was GBP 15.4 million.
Rigid Paper Ltd employs 86 people, of whom 25 are administrative staff.
The corrugated division of Rigid, located in Selby and Desborough, is not affected by this procedure.
