Tableau Enters Imaging Market With the TD1 Forensic Duplicator

Tuesday 09. September 2008 - Initial Product Shipments Began on September 5, 2008

Tableau, LLC, a global leader in the development of Solutions for The Digital Evidence Lifecycle, today announced the first customer shipments of the TD1 Forensic Duplicator.
Specifically engineered for forensic acquisitions, the TD1 natively supports both SATA and IDE hard disks and sustains data transfer rates up to 6 GB/minute while simultaneously calculating both MD5 and SHA-1 hashes. In addition to disk-to-disk and disk-to-file duplication, the TD1 also supports standalone drive hashing, drive wiping, disk formatting, blank checking, and HPA/DCO detection and removal.
“In 2004 when we started Tableau, we introduced write-blockers custom-engineered for the needs of the forensic community, re-defining expectations for features and pricing,” noted Robert Botchek, Tableau’s President. “Today we are doing the same thing with forensic duplicators. We started with a blank slate and designed what we believe is the best forensic duplicator on the market. Then we packed the kit full of accessories and kept the price low. We want our users to have the best tools possible, even if they don’t always have big budgets.”
Priced at US $1,249, the TD1 ships complete with power supply, SATA and IDE drive and power cables, a FireWire cable for firmware updates, and three notebook drive adapters.
