Spartech Names Michael L. Roane Senior Vice President of Human Resources

Friday 01. August 2008 - Spartech Corporation (NYSE:SEH) a leading producer of plastics materials and packaging, announced today that Michael L. Roane has been appointed Senior Vice President of Human Resources.

Mr. Roane brings to Spartech 30 years of extensive experience at all levels of Human Resource function. He will report directly to Myles S. Odaniell, President and Chief Executive Officer, and will be based at the corporate office in Clayton, Missouri.

Mr. Roane will be responsible for the overall focus on upgrading the skills and capabilities of the Spartech organization. His primary objective will be to help lead the development of a performance culture that ensures every employee of Spartech is given the opportunity to contribute to the success of the company.

Spartech’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Myles S. Mr. Roane was most recently Sr. Vice President of Human Resources at Sage Software Healthcare Division. He previously served as Sr. Vice President of Global Human Resources at Greif Inc. and held various leadership roles at Owens & Minor, Inc. and Philip Morris, Inc.
