Alien Technology(R) Names Charles G. Alvarez as New VP of Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Alien Technology Corporation, the RFID industry leader, today announced the appointment of Charles G. Alvarez to the position of Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
Alvarez brings to Alien(R) over 31 years of extensive financial management and administration experience across a range of technology markets, including broadband, electronic design automation, and semiconductors. In his role at Alien, Alvarez will lead the finance and information technology arms of the organization and will have responsibility for accounting and reporting, strategic planning and analysis, treasury, tax, audit, and investor relations. He will report to Alien Chief Executive Officer, George Everhart.

“Charlie has an excellent background in both finance and business leadership,” said George Everhart, CEO of Alien Technology. “Having financial management expertise in both the public and private sector, gives him the ability to contribute broadly to our finance, operations and business strategy. His insight and leadership experience will be valuable in managing the company through our next phase of growth.”

Prior to joining Alien, Alvarez was EVP Finance and CFO for 2Wire, a provider of broadband solutions for the residential market; was SVP Finance and Administration and CFO for Verisity, Ltd., a provider of verification process automation solutions which he took public in 2001 and which was the top performing IPO that year; was VP Finance and Administration and CFO for Alliance Semiconductor, a semiconductor company. Alvarez also held a series of executive leadership positions with LSI Logic and General Electric Company.
