Onyx Group Acquires IT Firm
Monday 30. June 2008 - Fast growing North East based technology solutions company Onyx Group has formally announced the acquisition of part of a local IT company for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition of Ponteland based NCS (Newcastle Computer Services), is the second acquisition for Onyx Group this year, after Scotlands Campbell Lee Plc. The deal further strengthens the expanding Onyx Groups market position and increases the skills and services the group can offer.
Announcing the deal, Chief Executive Officer Neil Stephenson said: “This is a very significant move for Onyx as it will enable us to grow our business base both in terms of resource, capability and geography.
“We will honour all existing NCS contracts ensuring that there will be no disruption for customers, who can continue to expect a high quality service, with the added benefit of the enhanced support and services that a company the size and scale of Onyx Group can offer.”
“The acquisition has particular strategic alignment with our managed services division and will enable us to strengthen and develop this offering for our customers. As NCS specialise in Apple Mac hardware and software this will enhance Onyxs ability to offer these services into a unique and growing market.”
NCS have forged a strong and well recognised presence in the design and print marketplace, which is dependent on system resilience and recovery. This is a further strategic fit with Onyx Group who are a key player in providing organisations with the infrastructure and facilities to become truly resilient, including 4 major data centres and 3 workplace recovery facilities across the UK.
Onyx Group has taken on board key people and moved all infrastructure to its highly accredited and resilient facilities so they can continue to provide exceptional service and support for customers developing needs.
