Spartech Names Janet E. Mann, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Technology, and Commercial Development

Tuesday 24. June 2008 - Spartech Corporation (NYSE:SEH) a leading producer of plastics materials and packaging, announced today that Janet E. Mann has been appointed Senior Vice President of Marketing, Technology and Commercial Development.

Ms. Mann brings to Spartech in-depth management experience in the specialty chemicals and plastics industries. She will report directly to Myles S. Odaniell, President and Chief Executive Officer, and will be based at the corporate office in Clayton, Missouri.

Ms. Mann will provide strategic direction in all aspects of Spartech’s growth and commercial development, along with providing the overall leadership of marketing, technology, and commercial excellence programs. She will also assume the corporate level responsibility for Spartech’s Product Development Center, Material Development Center, Packaging Technology group, and the new Commercial Development organization.

Spartech’s President and Chief Executive Officer, Myles S. Odaniell commented, “We are excited to add Janet to the Spartech executive team. Ms. Mann was most recently General Manager, Industrial Chemicals at Archer Daniels Midland Corporation. Ms. Mann previously held various leadership roles at Chemtura, Dow Chemical and Akzo Chemicals.
