beck-Multiplex wraps books in-line with a bookbinding system

Sunday 08. June 2008 - Use in a renowned bookbindery - directly linked to a Kolbus bookbinding line high-end packaging of up to 70 books per minute

The packaging line beck-Multiplex MP 240 X with beck-Thermoschrumpfer HV 601 HPLS was designed by the packaging experts of beck packautomaten to provide an innovative solution for the packaging of books for a renowned German bookbinding company. Books are automatically packaged in-line with a Kolbus bookbinding machine ready for trading.

An optimally aligned packaging process guarantees high availability and excellent packaging results. The high capacity packaging system wraps up to 70 books per minute and thus meets the most demanding requirements regardless of the book cover. Changeover to another product is accomplished in a matter of seconds. The system provides automatic length adjustment, only product height and product width are adjusted by hand. On request, the machine can be equipped with a packaging data memory and fully automatic adjustment.

A significant benefit of this turnkey system solution is manifested in the central control unit for the system: Temperature and passage speed of the shrink tunnel are also controlled at the operator panel of the beck-Multiplex MP 240 X. Even at short running times bright and high-end packages are produced for a sparkling display on shelves. “Due to its adaptability our system smoothly integrates into the production process.” says Rolf Mayer, Sales Director at beck packautomaten. “The capability of the system enhances productivity and provides an important competitive advantage for our customer.”
