Depalletising Unit – DPU 400 – for automatic feeding of hoppers directly from pallets.

Saturday 31. May 2008 - Feeding hoppers with signatures/supplements at high speed is hard work and detrimental to the well-being of operators. Legislation is more and more limiting the time you are allowed to do this type of hard work.

With the depalletising unit DPU 400 the manual work can be completely eliminated and the continuous quality of feeding maintained for the total run length.

Pallets with printed matter are loaded with a forklift into the machine and then the process starts.
DPU 400 is equipped with a vision system to identify the batch orientation on the pallet. The advanced vision camera, in cooperation with a laser height detector, identifies each batch position with perfect accuracy. A batch gripper conveys the batches from the pallet to a device where the overlapped copy stream is recreated for further conveying to the hopper. Up to 20 batches per minute can be run in the DPU 400 depending on configuration.
The depalletising unit DPU is controlled by modern PC software and is easy to operate and maintain. DPU 400 makes a hard job easy.


The Depalletising unit DPU 400 is one more new product in the IDAB WAMAC range of mailroom and distribution systems for automatic handling of the newspaper copies from printing press to loading bay. The new inserter PST 400 has successfully been installed in China, Ukraine, Norway, Sweden and next in line to be installed is at Damer Grafica in Angola.
Damer Grafica have bought a complete mailroom from IDAB WAMAC including high speed single copy gripper conveyor PCC 903, high speed inserter PST 400 and high speed stacker TS 800 with packaging.
