PIAB INTRODUCES NEW P6040 VACUUM PUMP RANGE FOR THE PRINTING INDUSTRY
Thursday 29. May 2008 - New technology increases production efficiency, enhances working environments and reduces energy consumption
PIAB, a global leader in industrial vacuum technology, introduces the new P6040 pump range for printing applications, designed to increase production efficiency, enhance the working environment and significantly reduce energy consumption.
Historically, the printing industry has utilized vacuum and blow systems that rely on centralized mechanical pumps powered by electrical motors. Mechanical pumps often generate a great deal of unnecessary heat and noise and are typically oversized, resulting in increased maintenance costs and energy consumption, along with a larger carbon footprint.
PIABs P6040 pump range is based on COAX technology, an advanced solution for generating vacuum with compressed air. COAX multistage ejectors are smaller, more efficient and more reliable than conventional ejectors. The cartridges can be integrated directly into machinery, which allows for the design of a flexible, modular vacuum system.
The P6040 range supports a decentralized system that places compressed air pumps closer to the point-of-use, which helps increase speed and precision. With no moving parts, and virtually no maintenance required, downtime and work stoppage are drastically reduced, increasing production efficiency.
The P6040 puts energy to maximum use, resulting in reduced noise levels for a more peaceful working atmosphere than can be achieved with mechanical vacuum and blow systems. As a measure to protect sensitive products from static charge, the P6040 cools compressed air and thus, the blow-out air is also cooled, keeping workplace temperatures moderate and comfortable.
As the P6040 can be mounted close to the point-of-suction, pump requirements and energy consumption are reduced without sacrificing power and flow. This results in a reduction of energy costs by up to 25 percent. A natural extension of PIABs P6010 pumps, the P6040s operating efficiency is further optimized with inte¬grated control options like Energy Saving (ES), helping companies reduce carbon footprint and improve conservation efforts.
The modular P6040 features an anodized aluminum housing to withstand even the most demanding environments. Upgrading existing equipment for better performance is simple, while using the P6040 on new machines ensures trouble-free operation in the most economical way.
