Bowe Bell + Howell Selects Benefit Express for Benefits Enrollment and Eligibility Management

Thursday 01. May 2008 - Study Shows 16.5% Decrease in Paper and 14.8% Increase in Online Enrollment Saves Companies Time and Money

Benefit Express’ comprehensive health and welfare enrollment system has been chosen by Wheeling-based Bowe Bell + Howell. The three-year contract servicing nearly 2,000 employees, will provide Bowe Bell + Howell with best-of-breed online benefits enrollment solutions and provide a greater return on their investment than their previous enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

Only 2.2% of employees at firms using best-of-breed systems required paper enrollment forms compared to 18.7% of ERP users according to research by the Gantry Group, a market analysis firm based in Concord, Massachusetts when they interviewed 450 human resource executives at U.S. firms with 5,000 or more employees. Best-of-breed users also enrolled via the Web 64.6% of the time, compared with 49.8% of ERP users. These findings, among others, suggest best-of-breed solutions yield higher and quicker ROI for employers by driving down paper-based administrative processes, driving up online adoption and minimizing questions to benefit managers.

Bowe Bell + Howell is implementing Benefit Express’ complete Benefits Administration tools which will include streamlined benefits administration and seamless system integration functions necessary to administer effectively their benefits programs. Benefit Express brings a unique perspective to the management of employee benefit plans. The MyBenefitExpress system will enable Bowe Bell + Howell to implement efficient and cost-effective strategies to meet the challenges of today’s rapidly changing human resource and benefits environment.
