RFMD(R) Introduces Single Junction Circulators for Cellular Base Stations
Tuesday 22. April 2008 - RF Micro Devices, (NASDAQ:RFMD), a global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance radio frequency systems and solutions, today announced the introduction of five single junction circulators for wireless infrastructure applications. The new circulator product family includes the PC0882AG-21H, PC0940AG-21H, PC1843AG-21H, PC1960AG-21H and PC2140AG-21H.
Each new circulator delivers excellent electrical performance and rugged construction required by the demanding operational requirements of the high power, linear amplifier and transceiver sections of cellular base stations, repeaters and other forms of transmission equipment.
The single junction circulators are manufactured with samarium cobalt (SmCo) magnets packaged in aluminum housings, providing immediate improvements in reliability and performance versus existing generations of circulators. The PCxxxAG-21H line of single junction circulators is specifically designed to cover the five major cellular frequency bands from 869MHz to 2170MHz, while exhibiting excellent intermodulation distortion (IMD) performance, low insertion loss and high isolation. All of the “drop-in” single junction circulators are offered in industry standard 1″x1″ packages for ease of implementation, and all are lead-free and RoHS compliant.
Robert Pinato, general manager of RFMD’s Standard Product Business Unit, said, “This new family of magnetic products adds market breadth to RFMD’s growing portfolio of high performance RF components targeted at OEM base station and communications applications. Building off this standard platform of magnetic products, we also offer custom designs targeted at application specific requirements.”
Each PCxxxAG-21H line single junction circulator is priced at $10.58 each, in quantities of 1,000 units with immediate sample availability. Based upon existing customer design activity, RFMD(R) anticipates high volume shipments will commence in the second quarter of this year.
