Atlantic Zeiser shows its digital label printing solution on the PRATI Saturn TE280 slitter inspection rewinder at drupa 2008

The SATURN TE280 slitter inspection rewinder from PRATI, a leading manufacturer of machines for the post-press finishing of self-adhesive labels, has been chosen by Atlantic Zeiser to show its new Omega 36 HD ink-jet print head with LED UV curing at drupa 2008.

Post-press remains a key process for the label industry. Errors such as missing a label, or a color as well as a matrix waste occur too frequently even if the label printer does everything to prevent these problems on the label reel. The PRATI SATURN TE280 slitter inspection rewinder enables winding, inspection, rewinding, slitting on a wide range of pressure sensitive labels, unsupported paper, cardboard, as well as aluminum. With the new Atlantic Zeisers OMEGA 36 HD inkjet print-head with LED UV curing, the PRATI SATURN TE280 is able to overprint not only variable data such as barcodes and product codes at a resolution of 720 dpi, but also special inks. The lower cooling requirements of the LED lamps enable the overprinting on both paper and plastic substrates without damage to the label.
The PRATI SATURN TE280 slitter inspection rewinder responds to the needs of a majority of narrow web printers as it can process webs in width up to 280 mm. It is a great cost-saving investment combining mechanical precision with electronic technology. For paper and transparent substrates, the electronic web guide comes equipped with ultrasonic sensor for easy process as well as the IR cell for counting with silk spot labels. While the touch-screen monitor guarantees ease-of-use, a self-diagnostic software informs the user about any specific stops or problems.
For label printers requesting wider web width varying from 280 mm to 420 mm, PRATI offers the inspection slitter rewinder of the SATURN and JUPITER series as well as the VEGAPlus series for width from 330 to 53 mm.
