Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd has announced the details of its first participation at global print fair Drupa, held at Messe Düsseldorf from 19 May to 11 June 2008.

Under the banner Empowering Print Communication, Sharp will exhibit a number of practical applications to show how easy and affordable digital printing is today for production and high volume print environments. Featured on stand will be the multi-award winning mono light production systems – the MX-M850 / 950 and 1100 together with the high volume colour MX-6201N and MX-7001N systems and a selection of variable data, production print workflow and web to print solutions partners.

According to Edmar Perdon, general manager, marketing information systems at Sharp Europe, this market has enormous significance for the business: “We are delighted to be able to present these high-performance systems to a broad audience at Drupa. Our expectations of this trade fair are high and we look forward to presenting our new document solutions.”

The productivity and reliability of the mono light production MX-M series will be boosted with the introduction of two new finishing options – unveiled on stand at Drupa. “The addition of the GBC StreamPunch and Plockmatic Squarefold Bookletmaker will enable Sharp to further improve the capability of these systems for a variety of production environments, such as in-house printers and print-for-pay operations, by adding yet more value for our customers,” said Felicity Knee, product marketing manager, production printing systems, Sharp Electronics (UK) Ltd. “Sharp will also exhibit the new EFI Fiery MX-PEX3, the standalone print controller for the MX-M850/950 and 1100 systems, as an alternative to the current Sharp print controller.”
