HELLO CELEBRATES 10 YEARS AT THE TOP!

Thursday 03. April 2008 - Following a decade of outstanding achievement and growth, Hello, the leading pan-European brand of coated paper, reaches a significant milestone with the celebration of its 10th anniversary on 1st April 2008. Testament to its success and undisputed dominance in the European marketplace is that Hello today serves more than 20,000 customers in 16 countries.

Born out of innovative thinking and developed in direct response to printers’ feedback on what makes the perfect coated paper, Hello’s launch into Europe in 1998 set a new benchmark in product quality and reliability, while the paper merchants who had designed it set themselves a challenge to make Hello the best product and service package on the market. Since then, Hello has been continually improved to meet new customer demands and has become the leading woodfree coated paper for printers of all sizes, outperforming and outselling well-established papers in individual countries. Most recently and again in response to customer feedback, Hello has become available in reels to compliment the rest of the range.

Hello’s phenomenal success over the past ten years has also been officially acknowledged by global consulting firm, Opticom International Research, which has ranked Hello the number one woodfree coated paper for eight years in a row, formally recognising its popularity as the paper of choice among European printers.

Commenting on the anniversary, Dave Allen, says, “To be marking a decade of the Hello brand is very exciting. And what a decade it’s been! Hello has enjoyed tremendous success right from the outset and the fact that it’s now firmly established as the preferred paper in its category right across Europe makes its 10th anniversary even more satisfying. As that success has been so much due to our customers, we’d like to publicly thank them for their support and loyalty over the years and assure them that, with their continued feedback, we’ll continue to improve and add further value to the Hello product range and service offering over the next ten years.”

He adds, “As well as the ongoing dialogue we maintain with our customers, the unparalleled choice of finishes, weights and sizes, and Hello’s outstanding reliability in terms of its stock availability, high quality and consistency internationally are all other key factors that have ensured the continued success of Hello. And we’ll soon be announcing a further exciting product development to the Hello range, which will deliver even greater performance and improved printed results and, in doing so, will elevate Hello’s recognition and use to even higher levels.”

Hello’s popularity and longevity can further be attributed to its ability to adapt and evolve to meet the needs of users. Reflecting this, the Hello logo was recently modernised with a fresher, more sophisticated look and feel to align itself more closely with the product’s key attributes and to take the brand into its second decade and next phase of development.

Recognising its obligation to ensure environmentally friendly practices, Hello also sources its fibres in line with a responsible purchasing policy. In the UK the brand has achieved FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certification, which indicates that the paper has been produced using raw materials that are processed, transformed, manufactured and distributed through a managed ‘chain of custody’. And in Austria, Hello has achieved PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certification by demonstrating its commitment to promoting sustainable forest management through independent third party forest certification.

Such developments are important milestones in the growth of Hello and reinforce the philosophy of quality, consistency and choice that has driven the brand during the last ten years and will continue to do so for many years to come.
