Euro RSCG Puts Digital at the Core of San Francisco Office
Wednesday 02. April 2008 - Global Network Acquires Kadium
Euro RSCG Worldwide today announced it has put digital at the core of its San Francisco office through the acquisition of Kadium, a world class digital operation based in San Francisco. Former Kadium principals Kevin Newby, Mike Fung and Derick Daily will join the management team of Euro RSCG San Francisco with Newby assuming the title of Director, Digital Services, while Fung and Daily become co-ECD’s with existing Euro RSCG San Francisco ECD Ernie Lageson, to bring a fully-integrated perspective to all client brands.
This acquisition creates a fully-integrated offering for Euro RSCG in San Francisco, and gives the office best-in-class capabilities in the areas of site development, on-line marketing, digital media, mobile marketing programs and business strategic consulting. This move follows the announcement of Euro RSCG’s global commitment to placing digital at the core and similar moves at Euro RSCG New York and Euro RSCG Chicago.
“There is a lot of debate in the industry currently about where digital should live. We fundamentally believe that digital must be at the heart of every agency rather than being kept in a silo. This move puts it at the core of the San Francisco agency and will allow us to continue to stay ahead of the curve in delivering what our clients need,” said David Jones, Global CEO of Euro RSCG.
“The vertical integration of digital and analog is the best way to solve clients’ business challenges today. It provides for co-creation, it eliminates hand-offs, and builds interdependence into program elements. The integrated model we have rolled out across North America is allowing us to truly amplify our clients’ brand platforms. We are thrilled to bring this model to San Francisco,” said Esther Lee, CEO of North America and President of Global Brands for Euro RSCG. “We looked at quite a few digital offerings as we contemplated a digital acquisition. The team at Kadium offers superior strength in creativity, technology and leadership. They are the perfect complement to our already strong San Francisco offering.”
Alan Burgis, who will continue in his role as CEO of Euro RSCG San Francisco, added, “We want to be an agency engaged in a dialogue with leading consumers, rather than simply pushing messages into the media ether. To do this we must be digitally powerful and structurally integrated. The addition of Kadium allows us to realize our ambitions and will provide ongoing momentum for growth, both through new client wins and through expanding our relationships with existing clients.”
“We’re thrilled to be part of Euro RSCG for their commitment to digital, their appreciation of the creative craft and their entrepreneurial business approach,” said Newby.
Kadium is an award-winning, full-service digital agency founded by Kevin Newby, Mike Fung and Derick Daily, with expertise in digital strategy and consulting, creative ideation and development, media buying and planning and technology development. The current client roster includes key technology, entertainment and pharmaceutical companies such as Google, Sony, Genentech and Adobe.
Euro RSCG San Francisco is a full-service advertising and direct agency whose current clients include John Muir Health and a number of leading financial clients, including Charles Schwab. The agency experienced double- digit growth in 2007.
The new integrated offering will be housed in the current offices of Euro RSCG San Francisco.
This new structure goes into effect immediately.
